So if you're one of the very few people that actually checks this site, you might have noticed a problem the past week: no site.
TL;DR version: Ever since the database crash in January, things haven't worked well. A series of cascades later, I FINALLY have an updated script and database, and hopefully things will work better!
What happened is back in January, my database suddenly dropped tables. I have no idea why. I didn't do it, so I'm not sure why the database suddenly lost most of the tables, but I had to redo it. Unfortunatly, the database wasn't backed up properly, and the only backup that worked was from a year ago. Yeah, not happy! But, because of the LJ crossposting, I was at least able to recover my posts (if not my drafts and ideas), so that was fine.
Ever since then, I've been having minor issues with my script. I tried updating, but there was a problem somewhere that was making the script stop updating the database, and I could never get it working. So I was stuck with an older version.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, and I started having trouble posting. I would get odd error messages and be unable to get anywhere. My questions on the forum still weren't answered, so I started trying to get answers for a work-around to upgrade. When my site completly broke, as in, the PHP script kept spitting out errors and not compiling correctly, my host switched me over the PHP5. That made things worse. I did install a clean version of the latest b2evo, and that worked perfectly fine. So I was in the process of moving all the posts to the backup install just in case, when I finally got a workaround for the upgrade. Unfortunatly, just as I had finished the upgrade, my host switched me back to PHP4. Which made the site blank. Several emails later, I got it switched back to PHP5, and as you can see, everything is working again!
I apologize for anyone that had issues or actually wanted to see anything here! Everything is in good shape right now, and will hopefully remain so. I will make an effort to backup the database myself every couple of weeks, so this hopefully won't happen again!
