I officially have a job again. I start working at the First National Bank of Ipswich on Monday. I will be working mainly out of the Portsmouth branch, but for the next two weeks I will be in Ipswich and Rowely.
My boss, Megan, is really cool. We'll get along fine. I think this will be the first job when my boss will care than I can do and learn anything. Finally!
I am going to be working full time now. I will be getting Sundays off everyweek. I will however be working Saturdays so plans will have to be made somewhat in advance now. My freedom has come to an end -_-;
I just finished the last book of the Mallorean today. I am sorta sad now though. i've been reading more or less constantly since the end of April. Now i don't really have a book to read until i see Johnny and start Fire and Ice. I might just grab some thing out of my library, or go up in the attic. It'll be weird not reading somethinng in bed tonight !_!.
I have finally come across a series where it's sequal was better than the first. Given, i did like the Belgariad, there was distinct lack of emotion and excitement in it's writing style. Funny situations didn't make me laugh, sad situations didn't make me cry, and i wasn't nervous in the situations that called for it. Everything was more or less predictable, and even tho i liked the story, it wasn't a page turner. If i didn't like to read, i probably woudldn't have read the second volume.
The Mallorean was a whole 'nother story. The writing style seemed the same, but it really wasn't. it was quite obviously the same authors but i get the feeling there was a stronger influence on Eddings this time (probably his wife, from what i hear). Although i could guess things in this series it wasn't nearly as predictable. Also, the plot was far more involved. I actually laughed outright a few times, and got nervous a few times. Never cried, but it was good enough. I am much happier with the Mallorean i think. I am disappointed in Dave. He didn't care for it so much. I just won't put so much weight on his opinions in books in the future.
Silk is still my favorite character, maybe even more so now. I am a little disappointed in how he dealt with Velvet in the end, i would think if he were going to do something he'd do it righ, but oh well. I rather like velvet so that may be why. Also, i have to say, i like Zakath. He's just cool some how. i was surprised by that. I found i was able to like Polgara and Ce'nedra more in this one too. they annoyed me more in the first book. All in all, the good characters were very likeable, ad the evil characters were hateful. Which is of course how the author intended i think. That was another reason i hadn't cared for the first series. I don't like it when the catagories of good n evil are very cut n dry and obvious. Maybe that's why the second series was better. The categories had a finer line. You ended up liking the eastern races (like Zakath and Urgit) and the "evil" category became a little less obvious.
I finally found my Nonpoint cd that went missing. It ended up in my filing cabinet pile somehow. Anywho, i am happy about that. My tool CD is still missing however, and i am still very annoyed about it.
Lastly, i got the new Boondock Saints. if you are thinking of get it, but already own the original one, Don't Get It. The only new thing in it is all the extra blood. There are actually less deleted scences. everything else is the same except for the menu screens, and Honestly i prefer the ones in the first released version. I was sourly disapointed i have to say. It didn't even need two discs. the first one has one disc and the same stuff. I don't know why they didn't put in the other scenes that Duffy mentions. if they are gonna release an unrated version why not put in everything they took out? It's a damn good thing it's such an awesome movie or i'd be hell of alot more angry.
