Anime Boston over all: B-

May 29, 2006 22:45

So, in the end only Dave, Danielle, and Craig went with me. We stayed at a Hostel in Everett. Because it was in Everett, the second night i stayed at Brian's instead. So annoying to have to pay to sleep in my homestown. WTF is that! Because this was the end result of all that i tried to get together all year, i'v decided i will likely just stay at someone's house next year and either drive/train in. Making the plans this year was NOT worth all the trouble (ended up down like 35 for no reason. that like three books, Gone !_!)

I saw Mark, Timmy, Chrissy, Mike, Josh, Ginjitsu (wtf's his name again?), Emily, Crystal, That kid from my JPN class, Maggie, and Kim. I believe that's everyone.

I met a few people here in there, tho Jon and Tom were the most delightful ^_^. Jon hails from NY i believe, and Tom, CT. I am very happy to have met both of em. Got some nifty people of Nya. (i met timmy there, but that dun count cause he went with Ferret Boy :P)

Steve has decided next year he is totally going. That's cool too.

The ravey-thing was wicked fun! so happy we were able to stay to go! (Thank you steve (and Brian) for the ride home! *Glomp*) The only bad part about this bit of crazyness was how much my body hurt the next day, and how tired i've been since.

Oh yea, Jesus was there! Wicked cool guy, i hafta say. Him 'n wolfwood actually hung out for a bit ^_^ heh

As for AB itself, perhaps it was all the difficulty i had with trying to coordinate it near the end, but i do think overall it just wasn't as cool this year. Last year seemed better in the line of Events, dealer prices, games, videos, panels, even the cosplayers. They spread out the convention into the Sheraton, but i don't know that that did any good. I hear the game room wasn't as cool too, but i was only in there once, so i wouldn't really know. It seemed normal to me *shrug*. Although i am not sure if the AMVs were as good, i did see a couple i liked, tho i missed half of them.

We ended up getting there so late on friday we missed registration. Dave was able to sort of compensate for that by finding us some one he knows and printing temp passes for us. I son't appreciate him throwing in the "happy birthday" when he handed it to me. I held my temper in check tho. As i had to all weekend -_-; *sigh* So yeah, for some reason all the awesomeness happened on friday, and there for we missed it. we got to see half the AMVs and that's really about it. some of us went to see Kaiju as well. that was amusing. So yeah.... not much happened.

I did ended up getting 16 manga, but it was priced nearly as well as i think it should have. it was very sad. only one vended had all the new books, and he didn't put em on sale till the end of sunday, and that was only at 10% off. GAY. The most anyone went down was 20% and 40% on Anime, which i didn't have money to buy after wards. I was hoping to get the two fruits basket DVDs i don't have, or maybe Outlaw star, or Chrono Crusdae, but oh well.

Anyway, it was fun in the end, but as opposed to the A it got last year, it gets a B- this year.
