Stone Temple Pilots concert
So me and josh went to the STP concert yesterday. It was really cool...well..
Okay, so the first opening band was awful (as expected, no worries). Girls Guns and Glory. When we got to the grounds we thought it was a band warming up, but it was actually there performance. >_< The next band was a band from dorchester whose been playing the River Rave for the past three years. The seemed like an Irish band, they were called Street Dogs. They had a drop kicks sound to them and they were pretty good.
We were really surprised because Ten years played next. they were really really good. I was really happy with them, they played great live and sounded like the do on their cds. i want to get the new one. i was nervous about it cause i wasn't sure if it would be good, but the songs they played were good. I got a wicked crush on the singer. Josh thinks the drummer is cool ^_^
Everlast played and we were sorely disappointed. he sounded like crap live, he yacked about the lakers the whole time, and i really hate it when people take a good song of theres and then play it with a different rhythm. you can't even sing along at that point because you never know when he's going to sing the words. So yeah. he was disappointing. Josh says its cause he has to much soul :P
Filter and Penny wise had a good set, but people just weren't into it. half the place was still empty, people didn't want to get up and sing along :/ the bands themselves knew it but its hard to rev up a crowd. Pennywise just started doing cover songs since know one knew their songs. they were funny guys tho, i felt bad that people weren't into it.
STP was amazing. i was wicked happy cause i knew every song they played. the set starts late which was sad but it was worth it. they had a really cool screen in the back that did fun pictures and videos and trippy stuff. ^_^ The band members were like "you know why you're having such a good time now? Cause we put acid in your water" heh. it was funny at the time. I was really happy with the band in the end cause they did an encore song ^_^ woot! Anywho they played Interstate love song, cracker man, sour girl, creep, tripping on a hole in a paper heart, plush, the dead and bloated song (is it called smelling like a rose?), vasoline, plush, sex type thing, Big empty, Big Bang Baby, Wicked Garden, and a there were a few more i didn't know the name of, or can't remember. ^_^ happy set. so much fun dancing, lots of cool stuff on the the screen. ^_^ In wicked garden, every time they went "Burn! Burn! Burn! Burn" they had fire all over the screen. it looked soooo cool ^_^
Anywho, that was the concert, two really good bands, and the rest was meh. It was wicked worth it tho. And leaving wasn't bad we got out of the area in like 10 mins. not bad. ^_^ didn't get home till 2 tho, since we had to stop at Josh's.
