((AUDIO ; "Private" to Flora ; dated to this morning))
Flora...? Flora!

((But he'll receive no answer. Quiet, upset, and embarrassed, he gives up.))

((AUDIO ; "Filtered" from Flora ; dated to the evening))
Is anyone caring for a young woman named Flora..? She left last night and I haven't heard from her since. Perhaps I'm being impatient...

[Puzzle? This is Luke, disregarding your puzzle, Clive.]

Flora's missing?

[Ready? Luke hangs up, not intentionally, mostly because he's going to try and contact Flora on the communicator himself. When he's back on the communicator to talk to Clive, he's definitely a shade or so paler, and he's frowning.]

...I think her frequency's gone...

Their communicator frequencies..

[Luke shifts away from the video feed, most of his face not visible.]

They go away when someone's gone home.

[And Luke's already dealt with Flora going home once.]

I... see.

I hadn't known that.

[His voice is tiny when he replies. And there is definitely a long pause.]

Flora was here before, a few months ago...but then she went home.

[Now it's mostly to himself, his voice wavering just a bit.]

But it's better she goes home. It's not s-safe here...right?

Yes, I think she'll be better off at home. She prefers it there, no doubt. ((He knows that isn't the case. But. He doesn't want to deal with Q&A.))

It's safer.

[Go ahead and keep trying to convince yourself of that, Luke. Because he remembers what time Flora came from, and he knows that it isn't really all that much safer.]

Sometimes people go home and then come back.

Flora never mentioned having been here before.

People forget.

S..someone told me I've been here three times now, but I don't remember being here before. [Luke shakes his head, nervously fidgeting with his hat.]

People actually knew me when I got ere, even though I didn't remember them. So...I suppose Flora just didn't remember, like I hadn't?

I suppose that would be a bit uncomfortable.

It's certainly peculiar.

[Luke swallows, frowning.]

But maybe she'll come back. Even if it is better at home...m-maybe she'll come back here again, like she did before.

I'll hope, for her, she isn't forced to return.

((But he is lying. He would sooner wish her back than pray she would stay away. It's strange, he thinks, that it should bother him so much. He wishes to mend the void relationship he'd torn apart.))

[Luke swallows, frowning. He would really really rather Flora be here. But a gentleman wouldn't wish for a lady to be stuck somewhere as dangerous as here even if he misses her more than anything.]

[So, Luke does what any good gentleman would do in this situation. Lie.]

Me too.

...

Do you... know how long it could be if she were to return?

She could come back quickly...in a week or so.

[Luke swallows.]

Or a few months. Or a few years....

It seems completely random.
