Why yes. I'm making it known that these illusions aren't your typical psychological trick. Perhaps I'm disproving my own doubts, but it's not normal for people to experience an illusion as a group, at least not at this extent. I thought maybe it wouldn't succeed over the network, so I decided to test it.
Our captors like to keep things interesting at least. Suspending ones disbelief usually makes people more vulnerable. I found it a little fishy we're offered as much freedom as we have, and even with all this freedom. We all could just leave, but if we did that there is that chance that we'll find nothing, and die before we leave this place.
Is there any record of someone trying to escape, or does everyone stand around and let these self proclaimed scientists mess with them?

I believe there was a group who ventured to the east in attempt to find a new settlement, but ending up being sent back due to low supplies and strange findings.

Tut tut, patience is a virtue.
((Only in passing, and hardly as if he cares. A few moments passing, he reads from his book:))
Approximately 11 day's travel there, a group headed east and encountered an inhabited town of unknown name. Travelers were forced to turn back due to prohibited entrance to the city, and lack of supplies. Unknown participants.
My source was reliable enough, though it was second-hand witness. That's about the closest I have to an actual escape attempt. It does prove that this Fortuna is 11 days wide.
