Imbolc Stirring

I don't know if this is any good but while looking for a good Imbolc Poem to record for Tribeways I just couldn't find anything that suited my needs and feelings and so I wrote and recorded this. Thought I would share.

Imbolc Stirring

The wind whistles down the street
As I race for my car
Heedless of ice and snow
Desperate for the warmth of it's embrace

Winter now
For far too long
And respite seems
Too far away to contemplate

Yet, I feel the stirring
The deep in the Earth
Deep in the belly
Deep in time stirring

The, won't be long now stirring
The, smell of spring stirring
The, light a candle and pray stirring
The, longing for the season's change stirring

I feel a stirring
Deep, somewhere
Primal, ancient, and raw
Just out sight

I park the car
Rushing, again, into the store
Hear the people around me complain
And think, can't you feel it too?

Feel, the, brightening day stirring
The, warming earth stirring
The, sigh of relief stirring
The, letting go stirring

The wind tugs at my coat
As I hurry inside to my home
My castle in the snow
My way post, my hearth

I spot the Bride's Cross above the door
And the candle burning brightly on the family altar
And whisper
“Yes, I feel you stirring”

May It Be

poetry, high days and holidays
