10 days left until Pennsic, and I still haven't got all my sewing done. Here is the original sewing list (all for my daughter - no one else is getting new garb) and what I have and haven't accomplished.
1) fix teal Indian outfit - 1/2 done. Since this is hand-sewing, I was leaving it for A&S night and/or watching TV.
2) tunic made from green fringed shawl - DONE
3) Purple cotton left over from curtains can make some kind of long dress. - Came to the conclusion that it would be too hot to wear. Replaced it with cotton plaid to make a peplos dress. Have yet to even cut the fabric.
4) gold 100% linen left over from Piers's tunic. It will make some kind of dress in a style I have not figured out yet. - This one is not started and isn't going to get started. Since no one ever picked up the kid's goldkey from me, I'm just borrowing something from there.
5-A) Striped fabric Middle Eastern caftan - DONE
5-B) Blue raw silk harem pants - made except that elastic needs to be put into top casing and around ankles.
6) Green plaid rayon-linen tunic - DONE
Extra projects - I bought cotton broadcloth in a tan colour and a non-period shocking pink to make two extra pairs of harem pants. Tan pants are cut out and 1/2 sewed together. Pink pants are cut out.
While I was at fabric land, buying the broadcloth and plaid fabric for the peplos dress, I found red linen on sale - like really on sale. I bought all they had left (which amounted to only 3 or 4 meters). I have no red clothing and feel non-Caldrithig-y and non-Skrael-y when everyone else wears their red. I want to make a kind of peplos dress to be worn in winter over an undertunic. (The linen is kind of see-through so undertunic is a must). I want to put embroidery/beading/some embellishment around the bottom. If I can figure out how to do bunnies in the celtic knotwork fashion of zoomorphic design, I'll do that.
