I need to rant

So, NATO want's good ol' Canada to stay in Afghanistan past 2009. The way I see it, NATO can go fuck themselves. Don't get me wrong, I fully support the Afghan mission, but this is basically a selfish attempt by the European members of NATO to get Canada to stay so they won't be forced to put their soldiers in harm's way for the greater good of Afghanistan and the world. Many Canadians complain that we're focusing too much on the combat and not enough on reconstruction. Well guess what, we're not the only country over there. There are many countries over there doing only reconstruction, leaving us, and seamingly only us, with the combat mission. Unfortunately, our European partners in NATO are too pussy to lend a helping hand with the combat mission. If they did, we wouldn't have the casualties we're having and we'd be able to help more with the reconstruction, which would probably mean that more Canadians would support us being over there. But no. Because they don't want to get their hands dirty, they are asking us to stay past 2009. Afghanistan is supposed to be a group effort by all of NATO, but the European members are too selfish to see that, leaving us to practically go it alone in Kandahar while they are all safe and secure up in Kabul. Yeah, some team effort. So, if the Europeans grow some balls and want to help us fight the Taliban, then I'll be more than willing to support us staying past 2009, as I think it's important. Otherwise, they can fuck off.
