Today was a very good day.
kizayaen did some extra work last night, so we ended up sleeping in today. when we finally got up, i asked him if he had received a call from the jeweler yet. since he hadn't, he went go to call. it was ready, so we ran out to go get it. once there, we hear the full story of the comedy of errors this order has been for the jeweler. the first stone was actually lost in transit, the second got chipped when they were setting it, and the third was the wrong style. as it is, they were unable to kite the stone, but that is for stability reasons for the prongs. i actually like how it looks, so i'm not disappointed that it doesn't mimic what was in my head. they did indeed refund the stone price as well, since they were so upset about all the problems.
also got a call from our lawyer who informed me that he received the settlement check from the insurance company of the twit that hurt me. even taking out the shark/weasel fees, it's a nice chunk of change which will be squirrelled away in the bank. i'll be able to pay off the remainer of the medical bills, with more for the ongoing chiro work that i'm having to continue. i've gotten a lot better since the wreck, but there is still some pain. at least i'm no longer on the "spoons" analogy on a daily basis. i can't pretzel myself like weirdsister can, but i'll live with that =)
