I picked up something else to bring with me to VVC yesterday! Bruises! Yay!

Never, never, never do stupid things with ladders. Like say lean them against your garage at a ridiculous angle to scrape paint, just because you don't feel like going upstairs and dragging down the ladder you know very well you should be using for the job.

Right Way! :D

Wrong Way. >:[

If you do decide to be stupid anyway, be prepared for the bottom of your ladder to slip out from under you, sending you and the ladder crashing 7 feet straight down to the ground. And be prepared for that to kind of hurt. Quite a bit. Doing stupid things often does, after all.

The worst ones are the ones on my forearms, just under my wrists. They make using the computer ouchy. They are followed closely by the huge one on the side of my right thigh, which makes sitting ouchy. Bringing up the rear are the two matching ones on my knees--they look the worst, but for the most part I don't spend much of my day kneeling. :P

I'm seriously a dumbass. But I so made up for it today by getting things done! I got my dad to throw in free labor and help me power-wash the garage. It's officially the cruddiest looking one on the block now, so I decided it needed to be scraped/power-washed and painted. And now I want to leave the distressed sides the way they are, 'cause I think it looks cool. Two sides have metal siding, and two are now very "old barn" looking. Why? Because the people we bought the house from were also dumbasses.

We'd like to knock the garage down and build a bigger and better one, but it's hard to say when the money to do that might be scrounged up. So I figure it's time to give the neighbors a break and just paint it for the time being. Or maybe not! The old barn look is cool dammit! :D

I also supervised the moving of my dad's old chest freezer over to my house's basement, where I will now fill it with even more animal parts than it came with to feed my own animals. And Gerry will be able to have things like ice cubes and ice cream and vegetables in our regular freezer again. I may even buy a whole pig for the deep freeze! I feel like such a dork for being excited about that. Plus I even installed a light down by it, so that I can *see* into the new freezer. !!! XD

Downside to the day, I think I sunburned myself. Between that and the bruises, sleeping should be interesting for the next few days...
