Ok, so all I talk about lately is my animals, and I'm not changing that with this entry. :P
Two days ago, after having lost our bunny a few years ago, and due to the extreme cuteness of a homeless hamster (which I won't go into), Gerry and I got another bunny.
Actually, we got two, but we're sticking with one. They had two six-month old rabbits that were separated from the younger rabbits, living in their own cages. A black male Netherland Dwarf and a female lop. We got them both in the hopes they would keep each other company and provide some support from the cats and dog.
The lop hated the little boy bunny with a fairly firey passion. We had separate cages for them, but even through there she tried to bite his face off. Plus he freaked out every time he heard the dog bark or the cats fight, and he hadn't even been allowed to see them yet. So, even though the place we went to had a no refund policy, we decided that taking him back was the best thing for everyone. Hopefully he'll get a home with a patient kid and no other loud animals.
Of course, the lop is proving to be quite the handful all by herself. We've decided to call her Harley (via Harley Quinn), and she has both our male dog and our one male cat madly in lust with her. She has an appointment to get spayed as soon as possible (about a freaking month from now...), but for now her hormones are apparently running in overdrive.
Harley in all her bunny cuteness.
Plus sleepy cuteness.
Today we finally introduced her to the rest of the animals. One cat at a time, ending with the youngest, Boo. Well, everything thing seemed to be going pretty nicely, and then she decides she'll not only tolerate Boo, she wants to make sweet sweet love to him. So she climbs up on his back and starts humping away. I squeaked/screeched and grabbed her off and started laughing. Then later tonight, when they were allowed together again, she tried to come onto him again, and this time he started humping her.
Miles pondering how unfair life is.
Boo macking on Harley.
::sigh::
March 23rd cannot come fast enough.
Oh, and in the background of all of this is the dog, panting like a freak, occasionally...peaking out...wishing he could jump the baby gate and get it on with her himself. It's seriously freaking us out. 'Cause thinking about that 120lb dog wants to do with that 10lb rabbit is just....not right.
Aside from all of that though, she's exactly what we were hoping for. She's not afraid of any of the other animals, and she loves soaking up attention. She's very much a little cutie pie.
But, y'know...I guess it's all entertaining in a kinda scarey way.
Kinda like puppets. :}
