Hope everyone had good Christmases and New Years. I have mostly enjoyed mine :-)
Really, really enjoyed New Model Army in Manchester before Christmas, and it was good to finally meet
john_hat. He even let me sit on him!
I have also been learning how to scull, which is v fun. I still like rowing (much to Ali's disgust at times. But then she's off to South America for five and a half months on Sunday, so I don't really see how she can complain about anything much at the moment!). As part of my Christmas present, James got me a
Scary Go Round book, with
this personalisation in the front:
which is mostly how I feel about racing. Sometimes, anyway. When I'm not thinking about squishing the opposition like bugs.
In other news, James and I got engaged. We spent this morning having heart attacks about how much receptions can cost.
Back to work tomorrow though. Must not despair about how little I've done so far. Must also resist the temptation to do loads of other stuff because the PhD is not going particularly fast at the moment. Easier said than done.
