4th of July weekend & other misc

I haven't posted a real update here in a while. Wonder if anyone has noticed? lol Anyways, I went to Georgia for Independence Day weekend. The Collins family & mine all stayed at the Ford house (very nice place, BTW). Overall, I had a pretty good time. :)

Stone Mountain is just like I remember it. We went on Sunday (yeah, I know it wasn't the 4th) and it was hot! The only thing I bought at the park was a pack of postcards. Because I am a postcard freak. ;P Me, Sarah, Chris & Jenny took the cable car up to the top of the mountain. Very cool. The wait to go up took about 45 minutes. The wait to go down took about 10 lol. I think because a lot of people who go up there choose to hike down. Whoever wanted to do that on such a hot day was crazy. The trip down was gross because I ended up beside some Mexican who was sweating buckets - and he was holding onto a strap that was hanging from the top of the car. So my face was practically in his armpit. So sick. Anyways, within 30 minutes of getting back to our spot on the lawn, it rained. Not very hard, and only for about 20 minutes. Of course, what wouldn't make the day complete without a skull-splitting headache? I took some tylenol, but by then it was too late to really be of any help. Luckily, Kristy offered a quickie neck massage, which really helped. The laser show was better than I remembered. I really enjoyed "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" part. The part about the carvings still gives me goosebumps. :) The fireworks were just awesome! Maybe I'll come back next year! :) It's a Ford tradition to go every year. Kelly said she's been going every year since about 1987.

Me, Josh & Chris stayed at the Fords on Monday while the rest of our families went home. Then us & Sarah went out for lunch at Applebee's, went shopping and saw Mr. & Mrs. Smith (which was an OK movie - not as good as I was hoping). The pictures I took over the weekend can be found here. Hope you like them!

This past Saturday night, me, Josh, Joey, Jenny, Courtney, Taylor, Chris, Alyssa, Brett & Joseph all went to Applebee's for dinner after church (do we ever go anywhere else?). That was a pretty fun time. Except for the part where Josh was taking pictures of all the waitresses. Again, I took a few (normal) pictures, but Josh took my camera to Bill's later that night and left it there. I should be getting the camera back tonight, so hopefully I'll have those pics up sometime tomorrow.

Right now, I am on a search to replace my sunglasses. The pair I had were scratched over one lense and had a big crack down the center. I bought a new pair in GA and gave my old pair to Josh. Then I realized the arms on the new pair were too long and ended up hurting my head. I returned them, and haven't been able to find a suitable replacement yet. And I really like my old pair, so I would really like to find a new pair just like those. But knowing my luck, it won't happen.

Softball tonight. I'll be playing. Pray it doesn't rain. Or that I don't hurt myself.
