Home Again

Kubla was it's usual lovely self. We improved on last year's results handily, I was part of four seminars that were largely interesting if sparsely attended, and got to hang out with some of my favorite people in the world and drink 32-oz. Sam Adams in the sports bar. My own game was a bit of a bummer if only because the group was definitely not up for an investigative game; partly I'm guessing by nature and partly because it was late on Sunday night and everybody was already pooped. For me, if I sign up for a game about spies in 1965, I expect to do some, y'know, spy stuff. These guys, on the other hand, actively tried never to ask anybody questions or try to find out any secret information. OTOH, they enjoyed playing with all their gadgets. C'est la guerre.

I am a little bummed to realize that was probably my last Kubla for the foreseeable future- the show's just not profitable enough to justify a plane ticket from New York. I'm guessing next year Tina and Jason will run it for us, and I recommended to a couple of staffers there that they ask Jason to be a guest next year to keep up the Hero tradition. We'll see- I'd bet he'd be thrilled to be a headliner guest on his own for a change.
