i am glad i was able to attend the service in mt. vernon, even if some of the dogma was laid on a little thick for my taste. seeing the slideshow with photos of jeremy throughout his life was wonderful. and hearing stories from the many many people whose lives he touched. there were numerous clowns in attendance, and enough clown paint to go around.

after the service we went to the skagitbrewery to winddown a little.

there was more clown paint

i had to remove the clown paint from my nose and put some on my cheek so i could take pictures.

we drove back to seattle.

and walked to madrona for an evening of celebration.

to a house on a hillside, down down down towards the lake. nestled between parts of madrona that are familar to me.

all night long we partied, cried, held each other, laughed and talked. most everyone knew everyone else, except for Josh and I.

i have never mourned someone's passing so much.

by first light, our ragged band of clowns and misfits had wondered down to lake washington through wooded trails. four even braved the crisp april air and the frigid waters of the lake to swim to the float, shedding clowning gear by the lakeside.

this presented quite the spectacle for the morning joggers.

slept on a couch, then on a teddy bear, then home, exhausted.

jeremy would be pleased with our celebration.

i miss him.
