*melts into a puddle of mush*

Oh this is BRILLIANT! I love how you are playing this out, it's gorgeous, their mutual emotional vulnerability, it's perfect angst and so loving and touching and I just...am in heaven.

Oh, wow... So much emotion plunged into one chapter. Donna's far more interested than she dare admit to herself, and he's at least admitting to himself that he's fantasized about her. (And good that he's come over to the ginger side. ;D)

I hope she's willing to accept his help, although I suspect he couldn't resist the mystery anyway. What is he going to find, how will those who were at the wedding react to him, and how will he and the Doctor react to each other? (And why do I want Peter to punch the Doctor?)

May I friend you?

Their conversation here is so perfect; natural and in-character. I absolutely adore Peter; you've expanded on his character and made him real. These two and their little dance: it kills me. Can't wait for more!!

"She tried to ignore them and returned her eyes to Peter and momentarily forgot how to breathe." I understand the feeling. Every time I watch DT in something!

Poor, poor Donna. Always thinking the worst of someone's motivations for being around her. But Peter is a smart man. He'll know the best way to get closer to her. I am just a little frightened of what might happen if his inquiries cause her to remember the Doctor and her lost memories.

I must say, though. Her describing the phone call just about broke my heart. I can so see the Doctor standing in the control room of the TARDIS, listening to Donna cry and shout and beg, and forcing himself not to respond, all the while with tears streaming down his face. And her declaration: "I'm looking for someone,” she sobbed brokenly, openly crying then, “and they're not looking for me.” Oh, so sad.

*eagerly awaits the next part*

Serenity, you said it so well. It broke my heart when she said she'd tried to call him, and I could imagine Ten's reaction just as you described, silent with tears. Her realization that she's looking for someone but they weren't looking for her... so sad, especially knowing that he would if only she would survive the experience.

Well, Peter is a detective, so we'll have to see what he will find. I just hope it won't kill Donna. It will be awful if he finds out everything, then realizes he can't tell her; yet another person Donna will end up not trusting.... Can't wait for the update on this.

Yes, that's the image in my head. I'm sure, if he thought it would not kill her, he would have been back in a heartsbeat.

I think Peter is a very smart man. Once he begins to find out the circumstances, I'm sure he'll be careful. He is also rather clever. So if there is a way to make it work, he'll find it. :D

I'm playing catch-up with this; and I was so ready to cry with Donna when she teared up!
