How like Donna to take the entire blame for the situation, but Peter has done the same. She really did need the time to decompress, there's no way she could have gone back to work after the huge fight she had. It's awful what Sylvia thinks of her daughter; I think Donna would make a fantastic mother, after all she mothered the biggest child in the universe (even if she can't remember him)! I figured she'd miss the flower delivery; at least she got them eventually, along with Peter's frantic texts. To top it all off, she had a dream about the Doctor, about begging someone she trusted and loved to stop. She did love him.... in whatever way.
Poor Peter, also blaming himself and wondering what happened to Donna, as she never went in to work, never acknowledged the flowers, and wasn't responding to her text messages. Totally not like her, she certainly has something to say about everything, even if it would have been to tell him to buzz off. The simple explanation is usually the right one, DI Carlisle... she just didn't get the messages yet or the flowers. And she did respond when she got them. I loved the extra flower additions, and that he kept the original assembly as well, to tell her he still loves her. She's wise to suggest they have the evening off from each other to cool down. Great, too, that they will still be meeting with the family, although that will be very interesting to see.
And poor Ian, with his situation.... maybe now he will also take some kind of action. Ian is good for Peter, but it seems Peter will be good for Ian as well.

Of course Donna loved the Doctor, and he loved her in return. (The way he looked at her face on that node in the library? Puh-leze!) They were best mates, and if they'd traveled together longer, they could have become more. She admitted to Wilf that he was dazzling and amazing, but our Donna was a woman damaged by the cruelties of both the world at large and her mother specifically. She didn't think herself worthy of anything more than friendship, but she did love him- Catherine Tate said so, and that makes it canon in my head.
You have no idea how much I enjoyed your comments- they were another addition to an absolutely perfect Whovian day. I'm the VP of our local Doctor Who fan group and I was able to find a location for a bunch of us to watch the 50th together- our local Brit Pub is giving us their party room for the occasion! How perfect is that?!? Then I get this beautiful comment from you and I think: this day can't possibly get any better. But I was wrong. My best friend sent me this pic from London today of her with this skinny Scottish guy she met outside a theatre... and now my life is complete.

Funny you should mention the look he gave when he discovered her on that node. I just watched that again today, and you're right, that look was of such total horror that someone he loved was taken from him. You could just feel that he really did love her, and by trying to save her, he may have killed her. It was utter devastation. Yes, Catherine Tate made it perfectly clear that Donna really loved the Doctor. Neither of them felt worthy of the other, and it was a terrible shame, because they wasted so much of the short time they had together insisting they weren't a couple.

Anyhow... I got tickets to the 50th, two of our local theaters have it in 3D, so I'm going on Monday night the 25th! I'm taking my whole family!

In my defense, I promise I haven't been lazy.
I've been preoccupied with:
1. Spending 3 days at our local Comic Con, cosplaying while promoting our DW group and taking donations for Special Olympics in return for pictures inside our TARDIS (We cleared almost $650 once our expenses were covered!),
2. Hosting our local DW Appreciation Night (TENNANT!!!), cutting the preshow for the presentation, getting prizes and running the costume contest, and helping coordinate the food drive for our local Food Bank we sponsored that night (109 meals were donated by our group!). (Oh, and making the buttons we give away at the meetings.),
3. Making a Jack Harkness Halloween costume for my son,
5. Promoting a Geeks Who Drink Doctor Who Quiz later this month,
4. Arranging for a Viewing Party at our local brewpub for the 50th Anniversary AND
5. Getting ready for our DW Polar Plunge in December which will also benefit Special Olympics.
...and the list continues. Oh, and the local library contacted us today to help out with their own DW 50th celebration....*thud*
(I'm really not complaining, although I think it sounds like it.) While I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of what I've been up to, it has severely cut into my writing time. I'll almost- ALMOST- be happy when the 50th is over.
If it's any consolation, it shouldn't be that long until the next part (29? I'm losing track without looking) is ready, as I've got it outlined.
Again, I'm so flattered that you're asking and I'll see if I can't get it done and proofed by tomorrow morning.
