*cough*
yes
I did write this...
Physicalism/Philophobia
“I don’t believe
in love.”
Her voice
Is confident
And sure
You admire her.
“Love is
just hormones”
She states,
Head on your shoulder.
As the heroine
Moons
And swoons
Over the hero
“Estrogen, testosterone, dopamine,”
She snidely smirks, “Serotonin
You get that from chocolate.”
When the movie ends
And the inevitable kiss
Occurs
She sighs softly
With a slight smile
And
Her eyes
Linger with longing.
In her room
Shelves-
Brim with books
Of love and lust
Macho men and
Willing women
But when movies
Finish
And spines
Are creased
She stands by
Her beliefs
“You fear
love.”
You declare.
“Who wouldn’t?”
She shoots back
“Love doesn’t
Last.”
She cites
Statistics.
“60 percent
of marriages end
in ten years;
80 percent
in twenty.”
“Love isn’t
numbers.”
You argue
Give it
a chance”
You urge
“Pain is only
a part.”
“No, I
Don’t believe
in love.”
Her voice
Is confident
and sure
You pity her
