ASSEMBLE.

[last time I posted here, it was the Avengers trailer. Two months ago. Somehow this feels eerily appropriate now.]

The Avengers opened here a week ago, thanks to it being the 4-day Labor Day holiday [say that 3 times fast], so it turns out I've watched it 4 times already. The excuse was so I could watch it in 2D, regular 3D, IMAX 3D and stuff, but ( Read more... )

AHHHHHHHHHHH. Just got home from viewing number two and I AM EVEN MORE ALL ABOUT THE NATASHA/CLINT. Today my favorite thing is how he never calls her by her full name, it's always Nat or Tasha or something and OMG ADORBS.

I still have a zillion tabs open, and I haven't even peeked at tumblr yet this weekend. FANDOM YAYNESS!!

Also, can someone tell me who Alexis Denisof was? He's listed as The Other. Was he the guy at the end? Or one of the creepy dudes Loki kept talking to? I missed him entirely. Both times.

EVERY TIME HE SAYS HIS NAME IT'S LIKE EVERY SINGLE EMOTION HE FEELS FOR HER ARE RIGHT THERE IN THE ADORABS NICKNAME DU JOUR.

Yes, I needed all caps for that.

And "The Other" is the alien dude that talks to Loki in his head. Since his voice is distorted, I tried to recognize Alexis Denisof by his mannerisms, but I got nothing. I'm believing it's him because it's in the credits, and Alyson Hanningan confirmed on Twitter that he is in the movie.

BELIEVE ME I UNDERSTAND THE ALL CAPS. Seriously. THAT SCENE. I might need a bootleg of the movie just so I can watch THAT SCENE a gazillion and four times. I can't get over how well this movie managed to hit all the right emotional beats for all the characters in addition to all the big hero shot moments. Also I cannot WAIT for the angsty multi-chapter Natasha/Clint backstory fic to surface. I don't see how they DON'T make a Black Widow/Hawkeye movie next. How could they dangle that in front of us and not make good!!

That's kind of hilarious that Joss squeezed Alexis in there and then made him completely unrecognizeable. At least Enver Gjokaj got a couple of lines off while, you know, looking like himself.

Hah, I totally got myself a crappy cam version because I wanted a couple of specific caps, except the copy SUCKS HARD FOR CAPPING, but I *know* I'm keeping it just so I can rewatch all the Natasha/Clint stuff over and over again. And yeah, the amount of monies the movie made, and how much talk there is about Black Widow and Hawkeye right now, and really, THANKS JRENNER AND SCARJO FOR BEING ALL ADORABS AND FLIRTY HERE THERE AND EVERYWHERE that mainstream media is eating them up like canapés... someone write that script ASAP, please.

I have a theory that since Loki is all Shakespeare-character like anyway, Joss wanted a Shakespeare trained actor for the alien dude... and well, he had a friend actor who fit the bill. :)

I listened REALLY hard and couldn't discern Alexis but I'm just assuming it's him and am HAPPY that he got to be a (small) part of it all.

Every time Joss does a new project, I get more actors and actresses that are now associated with Jossverse and that MAKES ME HAPPY because it's kind of like they've been initiated into the realm of geekdom and I want to welcome them with open arms.

Speaking of Jossverse actors, did you guys catch Enver Gjokaj as the second cop in that scene with the main cop questioning who the hell Captain America thinks he is? :)

I only got him on second viewing, but I totally missed a bunch of stuff the first time around because I was laughing so hard. *g*

Right? I also appreciate him finding tiny roles for his other favorites to pop up in all his new stuff. I hope he keeps that up forever.
