all information looks like noise until you break the code

I'm just guessing, but it sure looks like Livejournal's code-push madness of late [and subsequent fuck-up of pretty much EVERYTHING EVER] is a response to Dreamwidth's several recent code-pushes of awesomeness.

[Seriously. They broke the Syndication page and now I can't add new feeds. GRR ARGH. Note to self: to add as soon as they unfuck it up: one | two | three.]

I have no idea to which degree this is connected to the buzz of "let's up and move for once!" I've been hearing from several fandom circles, but it sure all adds up to feeling like sooner or later we -- as in a royal Fandom We -- will have to pick a side and stick to it. And really, I don't even have to think that much -- I *KNOW* Dreamwidth is a better place for fandom.

But I have an interesting conundrum -- as much as I respect Dreamwidth sticking to their principles and guidelines to find a new service to handle their payments, the truth is the fact that they won't be using Paypal is gonna make me have to jump through hoops to be able to pay for their service. Which is annoying. I have several reasons, but bottom line is: Paypal is the only international payment service I can really use to pay for superfluous online crap. So unless their new merchant allows me to pay them using Paypal, I'm not gonna be able to support Dreamwidth monetarily. I repeat: annoying.

In other news, Ayrton Senna would have been 50 years old today, and I've been ridiculously sad and moping and missing him like I haven't in a really long time. Having nightmares about his accident last night didn't help at all either. SIGH. Stupid brain.
