I keep writing LJ entries in my head but then I go and post some inane stuff on Twitter and poof -- there goes my LJ inspiration. I really need to start posting regularly here again, because I have been watching a whole bunch of TV and I actually want to talk about it. So let's see if I can get it right:
. I started watching Generation Kill eleven days ago. And I've seen the entire series four times now [well, it's only seven episodes, but still] and I'm 2/3 into the fifth viewing and I can see this going around and around in an infinite loop for as far as I can see. Not to mention the fact that I've been quoting the show re: everything [more on that
here] and really, most of these are not quotes I should be saying in public. Stupid cute marines.
. Castle: the pilot episode was funnier, the second episode was better. Yes, this show is ridiculous, but the thing I'm getting from it -- the writing, the acting -- is that everyone involved is totally aware of the ridiculousness, which makes it pretty damn watchable. And for me, the more fluffy-procedurals I get to watch, the better. They're my kind of turn-my-brain-off relaxation, and if I end up getting Nathan Fillion on my TV weekly while at it, BONUS.
. Kings: Even with thinking the pilot was a bit truncated [I wonder if it really needed 2 hours], this is the best pilot I've seen in FOREVER. And the premise of this show is just so freaking COOL that I can't help but be excited -- and eagerly waiting for more. Too bad the ratings were abismal -- here's hoping NBC will at least show the entire first season.
. Shows coming back: Greek on March 30 and In Plain Sight on April 19. And apparently Eureka has a returning date as well: July 9. Finally.
. Are you guys watching Being Erica? You really should -- it's cute and quirky and heartwarming and sometimes hilarious, and it's got the best appropriate-for-each-year soundtrack in the world. YES.
. There are about fifty billion articles out about how the next episode of Dollhouse is the best thing since sliced Beatles, and the hype is actually making me have expectations. So far, the only visceral reaction I've had about this show was feeling extremely disturbed by the episode with Matt Keeslar. Other than that, I don't even really remember what else happened. And truth is, it BUGS ME MUCHLY that I'm this uninterested about a Joss show. Hence the expectations for the next episodes. I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment, aren't I? Gah.
. FOX isn't gonna decide on the fate of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles until May. While this is not good for my anxiety, it is GOOD indeed because the ratings have picked up a bit last week, and they wanna see whether the show will deliver in the next four episodes. So, you know: WATCH SARAH CONNOR, PEOPLE. It's kinda [very!] confusing [but it's on purpose!] but OH SO PRETTY and Bear McCreary makes the music and Summer Glau plays the most incredibly incredible character in the world, ever and really, you don't have to watch the movies to get it AT ALL. Truestory.

In other news, after four months of NOTHING re: Photoshopping-for-fun, I've been making icons for the past couple of days. THANK YOU, BRAD COLBERT.
