life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about

I'm working from home today, so I had planned on sleeping a little later than I usually do. Only to be woken really early by incredibly loud cheers and some guy with a megaphone saying that the Pan American Torch was passing through my neighborhood.

OKAY, 15th Pan American Games. I'm officially in the mood. *waves pompoms*

...

My former boss visited the office yesterday with his kids, who were dressed as Harry Potter characters. On their way out [former boss] D bellowed "We're off to see the Wizard!" [in English and all.] Everyone stared blankly while I giggled.

D glared at everyone. And to me: "I knew there was a reason I hired you all those years ago."

Sure, yeah, right.

*g*

...

Everyone were off to see the Wizard, and I finally got to see Paris Je T'aime. Ah, the pretty! And the favorite-directors-all-together-now thing! I purposefully didn't read much on the shorts, because I figured it would be fun to try and guess which director was responsible for each movie. And surely I guessed pretty much all of them. /filmgeek

Except for Wes Craven's, which I thought was the one behind the vampire thing [I mean, come on! I kept waiting for something Cube-like to happen so I could go "that's Natali's! and... nothing. Vampires? That's Craven's business. Still, he was an actor in the vampire one, so I get bonus points, right? *g*].

But instead, Wes directed my very favorite piece, the Oscar Wilde [played by Alexander Payne -- haaaa!] one -- Père-Lachaise. Emily Mortimer + Rufus Sewell = ♥ ♥ ♥

[I would have LOVED Tykwer's if it weren't for Natalie Portman. God, can't she GO AWAY FOREVER already?! *kills*]

And on a final note, Catalina Sandino Moreno can do nothing on screen except stand there and I'm pretty sure I'll watch her for the rest of my life. /girlcrush
