Hee! Exactly. I've always figured I would enjoy it because the premise is just my sort of thing... but I had to convince myself first that I didn't need to watch SG-1 to get to Atlantis. That took a long time, what with my OCD brain who freaks out every time something is out of order. *g*
DUDE. The pretty kills me A LOT. Everyone is pretty, all the places are pretty, every *wall* in Atlantis is fucking beautiful! I've always had a thing for pretty colorful backgrounds, and this show WINS at it.
I read license plates *everywhere*, so I saw that immediately. Heh.
I knew I was gonna like SGA because it's my kind of uber!sciency sci-fi show, but it took me sometime to accept the fact that I would never watch SG-1 and that I could skip it and the world wouldn't end because of it. *g*
Who is the boring conventional heterosexual main couple?
I love SGA. It's not a fantastic show, but you just can't help but love it. And love it. And then love it some more. It goes through ups and downs, but they just seem to be having so much fun.
Uh, Sheppard/Weir? All I see online is Sheppard/McKay, but I've yet to see any indication that McKay is a sexual being. Heh.
I'm loving the show because the geekery is just my thing, and the fact that it's clear the writers don't take themselves seriously is a great bonus. :)
See, to me if seems to flip back and forth between hints of Sheppard/Weir and of John/Teyla, depending on the episode. But both seem too forced to me, which I also find funny, because even though I intellectually felt that Jack/Sam was pretty forced, it somehow also felt more natural.
Yeah, I do see the hints of John/Teyla, but since she annoys the crap out of me, I go for the other 'ship. Heh. Though really, I'm up to 2.07 and now I'm getting a Teyla/Ronon vibe.
I have this weird relationship with Stargate Atlantis. While I have no desire to watch SG-1, I'm oddly certain that I'll flip over SA once I start watching it. But I'm already watching too many shows, so I've kind of put it on the back burner. You're really tempting me with these posts, though. *g*
Well, it took awhile to convince myself that it was okay to watch Atlantis without watching SG-1 first. I mean, I always knew you could watch SGA alone, but my OCD kind of wouldn't let me. So I psyched myself up until I got through my head that I won't ever see SG-1. The MacGyver dude creeps me out!
