I got laid off.

It's funny how the previous journal entry is about my new job and how happy I was about it. Well, just this morning, instead of receiving my new Alienware PlayStation2/PC controller in the mail, I received a letter from Cambridge Learning Centers. It says they found a better candidate and wished me luck on my job search. I worked a total of one week for $130.50.

Do I feel bad about it? A little. I did everything I could. And that wasn't good enough? But I don't feel bad. Disappointed, yeah. A little angry, yeah. But at least it reassured me that I could find a job if I just set my mind to it. I just have to try again.

Well, that explains why she wouldn't answer my calls and why she kept prolonging the issue. You see, she went overseas during the one week I worked there. I was supposed to receive an evaluation at the end of that week, and since she wasn't there... well, I called her Monday to ask her if I had to come in, and she said no. I called her Thursday and she said we'd talk Friday. I called her Friday and she didn't answer.

I wish she would've told me to my face instead of keeping me in limbo for a week and then firing me through a letter. But at least she paid me...
