2016 Fic Year in Review
Scope note: Anonymous exchange fics are included in the Year in Review for the year in which they were revealed, so this post includes my Yuletide 2016 story, which was revealed before midnight on December 31 in my time zone. I am including the two WIPs I've posted to AO3 this year, and will also include them in future Years in Review for years in which new chapters are posted.
This year I posted 20 complete stories + 2 WIPs in 3 fandoms totalling just over 235,000 words, which made for a possibly even more mono-fannish year than last year, which was my most mono-fannish to date. I am getting fandom-monogamous in my old age, apparently. (I mean. Apart from writing gay werewolves for money, and so on.)

My favorite story of this year: "Start All Over (in a Little Bitty World"
Most fun story to write: Possibly "Sibylla ex Ampulla" (I got SO EXCITED about the logistics I could not resist writing it) or "Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It" back in the halcyon days of April 2016.
Story with the single sexiest moment: "All Hail the New Kids"
Story that got the most unexpected reaction from readers: "Look About (All the Stars Are Coming Out)" (who knew so many people were waiting for Bruce/Bucky/Steve happy curtainfic??)
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Oh God, I can't even tell anymore, and none of them are really standouts this year? "Til I Wanted to Change", maybe.
Most "Holy crap, that's weird, even for you" story: Probably "Start All Over (in a Little Bitty World)"? Age play seems like the kink that weirds people out most, of all of those. Or "Tracing One Warm Line," for, you know, amputated limb retrieval and disposal.
Hardest story to write: "Sink Right to the Floor" took a ridiculously long time, largely writing Steve isolated and depressed while struggling through the personal and global upheavals of 2016 was... rough.
Biggest surprise: "Look About (All the Stars Are Coming Out)" was definitely a thing I did not expect to write, as well as taking me totally by surprise with how much people got invested in it. Also "Five Things..." was a surprise, as Yuletide stories are sometimes.
