Now is the time on lj when we catalog.

Which is to say: with less than ten hours left, I am prepared to admit that I have posted all the fic I'm going to post yet. And I must say, it's been a pretty good year.

In 2008, I posted 18 stories in 5 fandoms totaling over 390,000 words. That's the fewest different stories since 2002, but the most words ever.

Bandom
Jon Jacob... (Jon/Brendon, earworm)
The Mathematics of Cunnilingus (Frank/Gerard, high school AU, porn)
Chimerical Romantics (Frank/Gerard, historical AU, vodka, sodomy, the lash)
In the TV Light (Gerard/Bob, NC-17)
(Panic! at the Disco Almost Changed Their Name to) Fuzzy Kitten Cuddle Time (Jon/Brendon, kittens)
The Completely True Saga of the Time Jon Walker Almost Died Alone at a Truck Stop (gen)
All the World Is Okay (Pete-and-Patrick, Pete/Ashlee, Patrick/Elisa)

Numb3rs

Certainty (Don/Charlie, fluff)
Missing Persons (Don/Charlie, The Anti-Fluff)

Who-verse

Amends (post-"Cyberwoman", Ianto, pterodactyl)
Make a Beginning (post-"Exit Wounds")
An Improbable Thing Before Breakfast (Ten/Donna)
Naming of Parts (post-"Journey's End", Rose/Man in Blue)
Her Engagement Ring Is Bigger on the Inside (post-"Journey's End", apparently horrifying)
Attack of the Orange Pop Zombies (Torchwood, ridiculousness)
Get Loved, Make More, Try to Stay Alive (Jack/Ianto, <19% mpreg)

Supernatural

To Course Across More Kindly Waters Now (gen, Dean and Castiel)

Life

What Has Happened Between Us (Charlie/Ted)

And on to the meme-y bit:

My best story this year: I'm just going to declare a tie, or say that these fall into different categories. Missing Persons and Get Loved, Make More, Try to Stay Alive.

My favorite story this year: Get Loved, Make More, Try to Stay Alive.

Most fun story to write: Get Loved, Make More, Try to Stay Alive was a whole writing experieince of "Oh my God, am I allowed to just keep writing things that make me happy like this? Oh man. WHEEEEE!" The next-closest to that same sensation was probably In the TV Light. That said, for sheer off-the-cuff AHAHAHAHAA I AM WRITING THIS WHAT AHAHAHA, Her Engagement Ring Is Bigger on the Inside.

Story with the single sexiest moment: (Panic! at the Disco Almost Changed Their Name to) Fuzzy Kitten Cuddle Time, Brendon petting Jon (the one time, not the other times). Or Missing Persons, Don and Charlie and the handcuffs (the one time, not the other time).

Story of mine most underappreciated by the universe: OMG, y'all, it has been another year of being insanely appreciated. Amazingly, amazingly appreciated. I can't even, you guys, it has been a mind-boggling year.

(That said, All the World Is Okay kind of hit a holiday-season dead spot.)

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Her Engagement Ring Is Bigger on the Inside, with the, um, interspecies romance. Or, you know, Missing Persons, with the torture and incest.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: (are you all perceiving me as a broken record yet? Did I only write two stories this year?) Get Loved, Make More, Try to Stay Alive - I got completely immersed in my Ianto and Jack, and now I tend to forget that they're mine and not 100% pure canon. *g*

Hardest story to write: ahahaha, oh my god, there is NO END to the ways Missing Persons was the most difficult thing I've ever ever written. Three years.

Honorable mentions for the merely rather difficult: (Panic! at the Disco Almost Changed Their Name to) Fuzzy Kitten Cuddle Time (the only fic I've written in years completely without input from iuliamentis), and Make a Beginning (which giddygeek rendered readable by brute force beta).

Biggest surprise: The Completely True Saga of the Time Jon Walker Almost Died Alone at a Truck Stop - I really did not think I was coming back around to bandom, and then, boom! Story.

Most unintentionally telling story: (I bet you can guess!) Missing Persons was the everything-I-want-in-a-story story for me, circa 2005. Get Loved, Make More, Try to Stay Alive was the everything-I-want-in-a-story story for me, circa 2008. Hooray personal growth?
