Here are a few photos I managed to grab at Splendour in the Grass this year. Frankly, the line-up was a lot patchier than last year, but the highpoints were stunning.

Started off seeing Operator Please. Sound was extremely muddy back near the mixing desk, but I was eventually able to work a bit closer. This was as about as close to the Supertop stage as I got all weekend, and I spent a great deal of my time over in the GW McLennan tent.

Old Man River were perhaps the day's surprise packet. Really enjoyed their set.

Awesome freaking sitar!

Tilly and the Wall's tap dancer showed no ill effects of the bout of food poisoning that forced her to skip their Brisbane gig on Thursday night. They were good as well, but the crowd didn't seem that energetic about it all.

I've seen the Panics twice now, and both times they've struggled to lift themselves above average imho. Not a memorable set at all. Sorry Liam, they just don't do it for me.

Apparently the Howling Bells are off to record a new album. Good news, because it's getting old listening to the same set list over and over. These guys just never seem to make the step up from good to brilliant when they play live -- it's frustrating.

Paul Kelly rocked! I'm definitely going to see him at QPAC now.

Sarah played All Coming Back and that made me a happy bunny. Unfortunately, my battery gave out at this point, so I have no piccies of the Waifs, who pretty much tore the roof off with their performance, and the ever-skanky Lily Allen prancing around in a pink and white princess dress.

If anyone makes it this far, there's more photos here.
