And the plot thickens

About a week ago i went to a beavers game(the local Triple A minor league baseball team). I was sitting in the crowd, and i saw this guy walking up and he had the most perfect mullet i have ever seen. You know like permed and curly on the top and sides, long and flowing in the back. I couldn't believe that it was real, and it turned out that it wasn't. I guess part of the theme of the beavers is redneck lumberjack. The mascot, a giant beaver, has a mullet. The little contests in between innings include throwing toilet seats like horseshoes and trashcan lids like frisbees. And besides the mascot(you know guy in giant furry costume) there the host guy. The guy with the microphone doing the announcing. He of course as a mullet wig and cutoffs. But there was one thing that made laugh by ass off, but it took me minute to notice it. I've seen so many people wear them in my life i don't even notice them. Especially guys with mullets. I guess in portland, one of the identifying features of a hick is a Detroit Red Wings jersey. That said the game was enjoyable, but would not end. There is definitly a big jump in play from AAA to the big leagues, especially in defense.

So last night i got to see the Velvet Teen(one of my favorite indie bands). I like the new stuff, but it didn't really work live very well. The old songs still sound great live though, so i'm thinking it might just be a matter of working the kinks out a bit. I've added a new book to the list of books i'm reading at once. The problem i think is whenever i go downtown, i stop at powell's which is one of the best new and used book stores i have ever been to. I think they might be the largest independent bookstore in the country, at least if measured by sales. So anyway, i always stop there, i always find something to buy, and i always end up starting it while i'm downtown waiting for a show or a movie to start. So yeah, another book started.

And while i was at the show, i started talking to this cute girl, and i quickly figure out she likes comic books, so yeah, basically the perfect girl for me. And she reads superhero comic books, which by the way, does not happen very often. I've met cute girls that read manga, or girls that have read sandman and jonny the homicidal maniac, but very few cute girls that read superhero books on a regular basis. And by regular basis i mean has been to a comicbook store on new comic day(if i had a day of worship this would be it) at least once in the last month. So yeah, cute and superhero comicbooks.
