Today I had the most interesting conversation about men and women and who has it harder. I know, I know. Pandora's Box and all that. The conversation took place between myself (the anti-girl), my boyfriend Paul (the sensitive male), my friend Andrea (the poster-girl for why men think women are crazy), and my friend Lance (perfect example of why women think men are pigs). This conversation started at around 12:15 and went until 4 in the morning. Lance believes that a woman can get anything because she is a woman and men have no choice but to work and do manly things. Women have the choice of a free ride if they are willing to make a guy want them where as a man can't get a free ride. As I'm sure you've gathered from this brief description, there is no resolution. The only thing we could all agree on is that if a woman is hot, she can use her body to get a free ride (if she so chooses). It was so hard to listen to his typical Male point of view, and also so hard to listen to Andreas feminist womans right movement point of view. And then there is Paul who must play Devil's Advocate to any comment made. Let me just caution anyone, Male or Female. DO NOT HAVE THIS CONVERSATION. THERE IS NO RESOLUTION BECAUSE MEN AND WOMEN ARE TWO COMPLETELY SEPARATE ENDS OF THE SPECTRUM. It's one of those "Honey does my ass look fat in these jeans" situations. Men = point A to point B logical decisions Women= How would point A feel if point B did situation Z emotional decisions.
This conversation has left me feeling worthless and ashamed. From what I gathered from Lance's incite into the male mind is that Men will do anything to get sex from a hot chick. Men don't want an unattractive chick. If you are an unattractive chick it is your fault for not exercising or not getting plastic surgery or wearing make-up etc. I sure hope that's not the way most men think and I'm glad that my male friends respect me as a person and not a prize to be won or a pussy to be fucked.
