I lowered the specific gravity of my must and the yeast came to life.
evidently, the osmatic preasure was too great for the yeast to devide.
so I added 5 gallons of water and, poof!
I got a hydrometer and the SG dropped from [off the scale, by a lot] to 1.150 on the first carboy, and 1.130 on the other.
it floated maybe an inch away from the graduations.
(I added 5 gal of water to 4 gal of must)
