happiness and flowers and kittens and shit thanks to Greg, and thanks to Robin's mom. They lent me their iMac restore disks which have allowed me to get both G4s working on OS9 and i've gotten media100i up and running on both systems. i found out along the way that i have a 10gb ide drive that is probably toasted and an ultra SCSI card that is most likely dead as well. i would like to keep the nice media100 board and the os x software but i realized i have codes for both pci cards for os9, but only for the older card for osX. (the software keys are linked to the hardware.) so i need to call media100 to see if i can transfer the key from one board to the other. i need to do this before i sell the older G4. if i can't transfer, i'll probably sell the osX version of the software (version 8) since the current version is 11, and uses totally different hardware. (more standard hardware, that works with FCP too.) i'll keep the newer board but the older software so both sets can have legal software packages. that would mean, getting osX on the older G4 (500x2), before i can sell it, and then having to sell it. i'm about 85% of the way done with Greg's demo reel, my first project on Media 100 i. so far i've only had to consult the tutorial book twice. i'm moved the project over to the faster system so getting it finished, once i show it to them and get approval and any additional content, should be easy and quick.

i do need faster and bigger hard drives for this system (the 867, quicksilver) and i can now sell the Powerbook G3 and try to get a fast, light, small, newer, apple laptop.

it's so nice to be editing again...aahhh.
