Holiday Challenge: Away

Title: Away
Author: Te
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: PG or less
Length: ~2700 words

Why I'm reccing this fic: Because it's the literary equivalent of a cozy blanket and a mug of hot mulled cider on a cold, snowy night. It's sweet without being saccharine, has voices so spot on you can hear them in your head, and is chock-full of warm, witty F/K banter. Add to that a Charlie Brown tree and two lonely guys who manage to dream it, and themselves, into something bigger, together.

This is an older fic, so a lot of you might have already read it. If you have, read it again. If not, you're in for a treat. Either way, it'll make you feel a little better about whatever your situation is.

"We're under the tree because... you aren't going to start talking about my mother again, are
you?"

"Is there anything else I should know about her?"

"I'm gonna tell her about the bloodthirsty thing, ya know. As soon as she gets back. Then you're
gonna get it."

"Get what?"

Ray sighed. "Probably an entirely platter of pierogi."

"Oh, I do love your mother's pierogi, Ray."

"I'll probably get a smack to the head, but you, you'll get the pierogi."

"Does she like being thought of as a murderous nomadic dictator, then?"

"Well, she does have the RV..."

"And a taste for leather?"

"I'm gonna drop this tree on your head, you know it?"

"Well, I'm in the right position, at least..."

"Are you prompting me now?"

"Yes, Ray. We could talk about whether or not your mother has a taste for young virgins
instead, if you'd like."
