Fraser's Income
Hi, guys :)
Looking for a story link for a search over at ds_ficfinders made me suddenly remember something. You know how Fraser spending so very little money is a running joke throughout the show? Season 1&2 more than season 3&4?
It occurred to me, if Fraser always was like that, spending so very little on himself, yet obviously not shy about helping out other people when they need financial help (as we see in the very pilot), then where did all his income go?
Factor in the fact that Fraser likes to survive off of Mother Nature, and that Mounties, especially ones who take on the jobs Fraser does (what with the lonely Yukon not being everyone's favorite post and all) being paid rather well (I think I once read somewhere it paying something upwards 10,000 CND or something), you start wondering: Just what did he do with all that money? We normal people have a hundred different, utterly necessary bills, but none of that applies to Fraser. Did he spend it all on other people? Did he have some weird expenses we don't know? Did he save it up? Or did the simple fact that import into those regions makes everything that much more expensive eat it up?
So my question is: Are there any stories around where any of these questions are addressed? One way or another? Even if only as a subplot/by-the-way sort of thing? I really would like to know but can't remember having come across any such stories.
Oh, and I usually prefer Fraser/Kowalski pairing, but in this case don't much care for genre or pairing.
