taiwan trip
i am finally back in singapore..
YaYs!...
first time i said that..
hmmm...
tons to catch up on... and pple to meet..

i left Singapore on the 9 sept 2006 for a 2 week holiday in taiwan..
just in time without getting into the whole hustle and bustle of IMF. Phew!
hahaa...
left on saturday and tons of sms-goodbyes and bon vayages..
and goodness.. it was a long boring flight, for abt 4-5hours... so all of us took our naps..
i needed the sleep the most cuz the week b4 the trip was hectic. Besides the packing and discussions, i had work..
to think back, i really missed the place and the pple.. esp sharon and TJ, alice and Jasmine..

we reached taiwan abt 5 plus 6pm.. checking out and stuff were pretty okay, 'cept for the long queues... and the first day at tw was horrible.. cuz our hotel was booked on the 10th sept and not 9th.. cuz we didnt want to waste the day's accomodation.
=)
All i can say is their railway is filthy... i mean.. how can u let pple just go ard smoking in an air-conditioned station?? how can their own citizens just spit on the ground like that?? littering and dirtying the place..
To think back.. how can we stand spending a night at a place like that...? Dun ask me.. i have no idea..!

Singapore is so much better.. though we have many rules and laws to abide too.. at least the place the kept clean... so i'm not complaining..

that was really the first time i saw someone spit on the ground and spread it ard with their slippers... YUCKs!
We managed to catch the first train to hualien at 4 plus 5 am??
yeah..... we stayed at Formosa Backpackers' Hostel.. really a cool place cuz i feel that it's more of a homestay than a typical hotel..
great place.
At hualien, we mainly went to the nightmarket (ZhiQiang Ye Shi) which took us 4 hours by walking in the heavy downpour and crossing a super dangerous expressway and to TOROKO.
Pple.. that is the place to really see.. and that was the place where i see God's magnificience and beauty. His Grace and His Love...
Toroko is a long and huge stretch of mountaineous land on Taiwan's Zhong[1] Yang[1] Shan[1] Mai[4], a place of must go when u visit hualien, because the mountains are most made up of limestone and marble there.. Piles and Bolders of it. Just WOW!

Thank God for the rain that totally soaked us and disappoint us in the beginning, because without, we will nv get to see Toroko at it's best, with the waterfalls..
No wonder the cabbie that drove us up was saying," Xia Yu You Xia Yu De Mei".. means the rain will actually show the other beautiful side of Toroko.
Amazing isnt it..?
But that... just show me the beauty of the Lord's creations.. Wad truly amazes me is He's Grace, Fovor and Blessings..
Because after we saw the waterfalls.. the sun was out, all bright and sunny... Ever since, we hadnt experience a heavy downpour on us..
All Glory to Jesus...
All cuz He had show us wad we had to see - the Waterfalls
Although pple may think it's nothing, somewad natural.. but the feeling is so different when u are at that position, mercy at it's elements..
He is just so precious and amazing. So glad i had HIM along with me in this trip.. Praise Praise.
And the tu chan (specialty) was MuaChi.. naturally i got it.. hahaha
After Hualien, it was KaoSiong.
Unlike Hualien, it was literally a concrete jungle made up of towering buildings.. Did i mention dirty roads... i really cant stand the POISONOUS GAS FROM THE MOTORBIKES THAT WAS ALLOWED TO BE EVERYWHERE.
We stayed at ChuYu Hotel. The pple are really really nice.
The first day was sickening cuz there wasnt much to to nor see..
one word - BORING...
Did nothing much... just general shopping..
Till the hotel pple's recommanded Chi Ching.
The TuChan there (in KS) is Seafood.. and i have to give compliment on the Grilled BBQ-ed Sotong. BIG, FAT and JUICY!!
OMG!! BEST!
And i would say so for the sun set..

nice right?!!
Then from KS, we took a 5 hr boat ride to Penghu..
it was fantastic because i totally love the wind.. the sea breeze was most then marvellous..

When we reached Penghu's makong's island.. we walked to the EverSpring Hotel.
Nice place and totally enthusiatic pple.. thank u so much..
Although we didnt get to see the Twin Hearts' Weir cuz of the time limitation and the high tide due to the tai feng period, we really enjoyed ourselves with the shopping of the "star-shaped wan-an sands] and beautiful bottles.. hand-crafts..
Wow... the the exotic penghu Beach..
Wow and brillliant are the words to describe..
penghu is definiately a must-go again destination.
And maybe a place i would have my wedding photo shoot at.. really cool and beautiful.. and not to mention COLD!
but it's really worth it.. all settled and all cooled down when i saw the scenery.. everything didnt mattered.. and i thank GOD for always showing us sth superb enuff to tide away our disappointments.

And the next day.. we went to JiBei Beach, where the filmed the Dolphin Lovers' i think...
OH MY GOD!!!
i tried the Beach Motor.. WOW!
and i got so tan on my hand till like i looked burnt..
ANYWAY...
we took a domestic flight up to taichung...
point is.. it's worse than KaoShiong even though the hoyel pple IS really nice..
this means only ONE..
hahaha
totally no where to go..
But we did shop for it's TuChan - Tai yang Ping
Next Stop was Yilan..
The ride was a 5 hour journey via railtrain.. and another 5 hour up the mountains.. but i must say it was really beautiful... on the way up and on the mountains cuz we went all the way up to the clouds-covered mountain tip...
Very high.. and i sat till i got bus-sicked.. almost threw up..
But totally blessed, i didnt..
and when we alighted.. it was alittle drizzling.. and real cold.. temp's abt 10 degrees plus minus..
one word.. trembling... had to run into the vistor centre..
We went to alot of places thanks to Dao Lao Shi if not, we would nv get to see the amazing views..
Praise the Lord..
That moring.. it was only 6 to 7 degrees... i can still imagine that coldness..

and did i mentioned that i have forgotten to shut the windows one night... sorry guys..!
we were all wrapped up like dumplings... worse is the blankets were cold too... was lower than -0 degrees..
in the morning... we ALL caught a cold..

the tu chan of FuShouShan was the dried apple and pear chips.. really yummy cuz they did it with fresh and succulent fruits..
and in yilan city itself.. it was the mi xhian (preserved plums)
=)
After that.. we continue to our final destination... Taipei...
Mostly it was shopping at Xi Men Ting, Danshui, Wu Fen Pu...
best!!!

and we even tried the Hotsprings..
not the ones in Yang Ming Shan though... but it was really good...

i got so many things.. mostly are the tu chan.. so heavy...
glad to be back in singapore cuz the environment here is so much cleaner, no polluted motobikes' exhaust fumes and finally into my favourute chillic sauce..!!
cuz they dun provide chillic sauce in taiwan.. not even in fast food restaurants..!

Things to take note in taiwan..
- they dun provide chilli sauce, only ketchup
- they dun provide plastic bags, mostly paper bags or none..
- the motobikes are everywhere... so invest in alot of mouth-covers..
- the transportations are better settled earlier..
places i love and will visit again..
- FSS
- Penghu..
- i love hualien too.. ToroKo is a must see for pple who are going.. (^.^)

- friday ( meeting shavonne for lunch at kenny rogers. Meeting woon and eileen for dinner at nydc)..
oh no.. i'm broke...
- sat (i forgot who i'm supposed to meet) *faints*
- sun (a day of rest!! YAYs~! CHURCH and finally nursery... WooHoo~)
