DC-area fen, check the Travel section of tomorrow's Washington Post - did y'all know there's a place to go dog-sledding only three hours from the Beltway? Haven't checked the website yet, but this sounds like a bitchin' field trip to me. Anybody else maybe interested?

Oh my GOD, do you have great timing! I'm planning to go to DC in March, and I'll be there for my friends' son's 10th birthday. And what, you may ask, is his 10-year-old fantasy? Yes. To ride on a dog sled. He's read every book he could find about dogsleds, races....this would rock!!! And be such a fun surprise!!

This would be a very rare instance of good timing on my part, but happy to have been of service. *g*

Dunno if they'll take riders that young (and also, it's frakkin' expensive), but if you contact them, you may be able to at least take him up there for a visit.

I'm less concerned about the money than I am about driving in Maryland. I always get lost. Every. Damn. Time. That state has serious signage problems.
