DS_CON_ENVY kick-off and roll-call
Hey you guys! It's technically Friday 3 April (by 32 minutes) and we're officially open for business!
I posted a "Hi, most of my flist are on aeroplanes right now! Woe!" roll-call type thing on my personal LJ the other day, and only just registered that I should've done that here instead. (Doh!) So... Hai! I am, no joke, eating jelly and ice cream as I write this, so clearly the party has already started -- down under, at least.
Things of an organisational nature...
1. Ficlet and Icon Exchange
Posting starts now and ends at 11:59pm on Sunday 5 April, Chicago time.
When posting, please include your recipient's name, the prompt and your assigned number, so we can track what has and hasn't been posted, and so your recipient can get the thrill of seeing their name in lights.
* If you're still writing or iconning, don't panic! There's still plenty of time before the deadline!
* If you need a beta, check out the comments on this post.
* If you are not able to meet the deadline, let me know NOW so I can find a pinch hitter. This is an exchange and everyone must get their present! People who default without notice or fall off the face of the earth will be stared at in absentia by a disappointed Mountie and his disapproving wolf.
2. Viewing Chat
nos4a2no9 is running two viewing chats, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. More details here. These are a great opportunity to hang out with other fen in real time, get to know people and share the DS love. \o/
3. Scavenger Hunt
mergatrude has put together a scavenger hunt. For each clue in the poll, go to the person's LJ and find the hidden link. Then copy the link into the relevant field in the poll. You can save up all your links and complete the poll all at once, or you can fill out the poll incrementally. More details here, including instructions on how to edit your poll response after you've submitted it.
The prize for the scavenger hunt is the winner's choice of either a $15 LJ gift certificate or a $15 Dreamwidth gift.
4. Other
Got other ideas for how to spice up the party? Bring 'em! If anyone wants to start a meta discussion or a squee thread, picspam tag, or reccing madness, or something wild and crazy and awesome that I can't even conceive of, please and by all means suggest it in the comments here, or private message me or sionnain, and we'll set the wheels in motion.
