Timelines into the past 1 - Fraser
Using bits and pieces of canon I have tried to construct some timelines for Fraser and Ray Vecchio covering their lives up until the pilot episode.
This is the first, Fraser.
1961 - Born. This is an assumption he was born in 1961 based on the fact that in the pilot Fraser is reading his father's journal from January 1969 when he says Ben's age the last time he saw him (presumably 1968) as being 7. This would mean he was born in 1961. We know he was born in Invuvik (pilot)
1967/8 - Mother dies. Based on the line in 'Victoria's Secret' when Bob says Ben was 6 when his mother died.
1969/70 - When he was 8 he and his grandparents moved to Alert (after that Tuktoyatuk - sp?). Line in pilot.
1971/2 - Goes into sweat lodge for first time. Based on a line in 'The Mask'.
1974/5 - Makes bet with Mark Smithbauer as to who will get their face on a rookie card first. Line in 'The Blue Line'. Living in Inuvik.
1980/81 - Enters RCMP. The minimum age for joining is 19 and to me it makes sense that Fraser would join as soon as he could. Plus he has 13 years of service in 1994.
1981 - Graduates from Depot. The third service star, indicating 15 years service is added to his sleeve in S2 - 1996.
1984/85 - Meets Victoria for the first time. I think 10 years is mentioned in VS. That episode took place in 1995 thus it would have been 1985 at the time of the original arrest. Plus it would make sense of Fraser as something of a rookie at the time.
1993 Christmas - Talks to his father for the last time.
1994 (possibly March) - Father killed. Fraser sent to Chicago.
And there it all began ;-)
