I really like this.

I also like the way that we both grabbed the same scene, both wrote first person POV stories and yet chose different people and with different takes. Spooky in a way.

I could really 'hear' Ray thinking this and it's all very true. The line that hit me most of all was:

There was little point in me saying those words when I called your Dad ‘the dead Mountie thing’.

Because Ray is spot on. Anything he said then would have seemed so wrong.
