Hi there everyone! It is precisely When Miz Gets Off Work O'Clock (and Kidlets Are Fed) and claims are OPEN- yayayay!!!Below are the primary work submissions for this year's Due South/Canadian Six Degrees Big Bang.
Complement creators, it's time for you to do your thing. Below is a list of all the creations for this years big bang, sorted by genre and alphabetized. For each primary work, the characters/pairings are listed along with the approximate size and a summary that should include any relevant warnings.
Anyone who signed up as a complement creator may now post a comment to the claims post with the number of your choice. You may list as many numbers as you would like, and we will assign each complement creator their highest ranked choice that is still available. For example, if the first comment posted requests "1, 2, 3" and the second commenter requests "1, 2, 3" the first commenter will be assigned to work #1 and the second commenter to work #2. If the third commenter requests "1, 2" they will not be assigned a work and we will move on to commenter #4. The third commenter is welcome to comment again and request a different work, but their requests will be honored in order of the second comment they post. This reincarnation!fic tells the story of earlier-incarnation!Fraser (herein Benoni) and earlier-incarnation!RayK (herein Reynard) from the year 1144 in England to the year 1154 in France, then flashes forward to Fraser and Ray in 1997 Chicago. The main story centers around the historical fact of the Eastertime murder of the child William in Norwich, England, which gave rise to the infamous blood libel against the Jews. The hermit Benoni (who has a lupine companion) is a Norman and the soldier Reynard is a Saxon, and they become involved in the murder investigation. During the course of the investigation Benoni and Reynard become lovers (as they do in many prior lifetimes and many ensuing lifetimes...but only the 12th century one is developed in this fic...and the Chicago lifetime -- with a reference to the Burning Down the House canon -- is only touched upon briefly in the epilogue). One of the most high-action points of the fic is when Benoni and Reynard are accused of witchcraft, arrested in brutal fashion, and imprisoned in a dungeon while an excommunication-or-death trial takes place.

Hell, him and Fraser even spent a couple of months together up in the frozen wastelands, messing around on dogsleds. But then Fraser wrote that he was coming back to Chicago, back to his old gig at the Consulate. Kowalski got transferred right out of Chicago and we never got wind of him since.
Then the consequences of a murder inquiry make RayV start to wonder whether Fraser's keeping secrets from him.
