Welcome to the first-ever DS9 Comment Ficathon!

This'll run as long as prompts and fills keep coming in (I'll be compiling the first masterlist next week). If you've never participated in a commentfic post, it's pretty straightforward!

To leave a prompt:1. All prompts should be left as a top-level comment to this post, not as a response to other ( Read more... )

Garak, PG-13, "Nightmare" helly_uk November 27 2011, 19:50:15 UTC
He hadn't intended his day to take this course.
Indeed, Garak was rather hoping to have a quiet day, spending quality time with some Tholian silk he had...aquired.
Instead, he found himself facing one of his greatest nightmares.

children.

He found himself stood infront of mrs obriens class, trying to fathom out exactly how he had managed to be hoodwinked by Rom into briefly watching the class. It completley baffled him. One minute he was sitting down with his sewing kit and a hot cup of red leaf tea, and the next he was being dragged accross the promenade and thrown into the room to be left at the mercy of several younglings.

He was being interogated by the small cubs at the front of the room. Inane questions. stupid questions. Redundant questions such as "What are we meant to do?" (it was written in front of them on their padds) and "how do you get your skin so grey?" were often accompanied by irritating whining statements such as "I don't get it" All in all, he felt like sewing their mouths shut. He'd done it before, he knew the logistics. He'd just never had to do it on such a small scale.

Clenching and unclenching his fingers he attempted to calm himself. He may have been able to cope with the younger students alone, if it weren't for the older ones sat at the back of the room.

One was attached to their media device, and Garak knew that he wasn't studying anything on any curriculum. Two others were talking loudly and crudely, pointedly ignoring any attempt by Garak to get them to be quiet.
The last even had the gall to threaten Garak when he had asked him to throw his chewing sweet into the trash recepticle.

That boy had no idea how close he came to being... dealt with.
He was indeed very lucky when Mrs obrien rushed into the room with a look of horror on her face, about to appologise when Garak simply held his hand up to silence her. "well. Its nice to know that works on someone." he mused quietly, as she stood mute. "Now if you dont mind Mrs Obrien, I intend to find a small dark room to work in. I imagine it would be more restful."

With that he left the room, with a whole new respect for the lady who calmly acheived order and carried on with her lesson.

Poor Garak. I love how he'd rather risk a claustrophic episode than teach children again. LOL

Eee, thank you for writing this!

All in all, he felt like sewing their mouths shut. He'd done it before, he knew the logistics. He'd just never had to do it on such a small scale.

You have no idea how much I want an entire, massive-length fic about this.

I love a little reminder of Garak's dark past. And who wouldn't want to sew their mouths shut?

Thanks!

S.
