I have been perusing the informative & delightful pages of one of Rupert Sheldrake's contributions to the understanding of intuition as the true reality of nature. He overtly attacks & dismisses the mechanistic, disembodied perspective scientists approach nature with & reasons, with great ken, that the intuitive-emotional connection between nature & ourselves is the true portal into the organic mind of life.
Anyway, he [Sheldrake] refers to Henri Bergson's 'elan vital' which intruiged me to no end. The 'elan vital' or vital impetus is the creative, spontaneous force that propels nature into the process of evolution & is not dictated by mutation, natural selection etcetera. He refutes those Darwinian notions & from my interpretation of what I have read, he hints at the entelechy of the universe; the numen that inspires & fuels the creative engines of organic existence. I'm going to see if they have Bergson's highly acclaimed book, 'Creative Evolution' at the library tomorrow & indulge my mind into the depths of his.
I'm actually contemplating writing a book myself, of course, once I have accumulated sufficient experience & knowledge within the domain that it will frolic. Perhaps, a synthesis of psychedelics, shamanism, evolution, ontology, consciousness - all the good stuff - will make for an interesting & arduous endeavour.
Aside from reading & considering authoring a book, which will probably never reach fruition, I worked nine hours today which was rather tiring & monotonous. In an attempt to let time pass without my notice I try & abjure from looking at my watch, which works to some degree. The dulcet tones of Lateralus are soothing my consciousness from its drag through the mud of consumerism.
