Happy but still guilty (the hazards of being raised Catholic)

So, remember the front desk woman I complained about many months ago who was rude to me regarding my pizza delivery? Well, today I found out she was fired. The guilt part comes in because, believe it or not, I really do feel badly for people when they lose their jobs, even if they are assholes. I do not wish real harm for her. However, the truth is, she could be a major bitch. It's not that I agree with revenge, so much as I believe that bad behavior needs to be stopped. There's no point in being nice to people who are consistently rude to you...especially when it's their freakin' job to be nice and helpful to the people who live in the building.

So, she sucks at life and that's why she lost her job, so I won't feel too badly about it.

The funny thing is, when the new board of trustees got elected this past March, they were very good to her. They gave her these seniority supervisory perks as well as a raise. Frankly, I'm not exactly sure why they wanted to reward bad behavior. But, I think they were of the opinion that if she were treated better than the old board treated her, her attitude would improve. But, no, she's just a bitch and would be a bitch no matter how good they were to her.

So, good riddance, I suppose. She really didn't perform her job, and the truth is she needed to be canned. Now, I no longer have to feel uncomfortable whenever I'm in the lobby while she is working. And, that's a good thing.
