To start off with: PETE! Clean out your email account. Every time I try and email you a response it responds that it's too full.
My three day weekend flew by. Vacations are always shorter than you anticipate. I did manage to see some movies and will save you some bucks by giving you the run down:
Mean Girls: Neena and I agree Lindsey Lohan is A-OK. I used to say she was my favorite out of the teenage girl crowd, but after seeing her host SNL and then seeing this movie, I decided to like her. Yeah, it was a teen flick, but Tina Fey wrote it and I left feeling like she had captured so many of my high school moments on screen. The clique table we're the funniest. I suppose this didn't really ring true about LHS, but in Newton there was the smart asian table, the popular asian table, the math team, the JV Jocks and the band geeks.
21 Grams: I wanted to see this movie when it was in theaters, but never got around to it. From the title I assumed that the film was about drugs, which was incorrect. Benicio Del Toro played an ex-convict who found god. I was unsuccessful in finding a picture of his "Faith" truck. The way the movie was filmed reminded me a little of "Memento." Although the film started with the ending scene, two and three minute clips from the beginning were played as well. The end of the movie was the middle of the story. If the story in the film was a line ______ it was captured on film like this >. That's the best way I can think of to describe it.
10: I have heard so much about this film and after it's director Blake Edwards was awarded at this year's Oscars, I finally put it in my Netflix rental queue. I LOVED it. It's clever and sexy and funny and it optimizes Los Angeles in the 70s. Dudley Moore made me fall in love with him all over again and Bo Derek is just gorgeous. Julie Andrews came out of hiding to play a Broadway Star and although she is found singing in several scenes it adds a lot to the film. Out of the three movies I saw I recommend this one. We should all watch it together this summer!
Other than that the weather here has been dreadful and I'm not looking forward to working this weekend while the children's parents spend a romantic weekend in Chicago.
*side note: Grrrrrr! I've been trying to find a picture of the Faith truck that was in 21 Grams. I'll continue to look, because it would crack you up*
