Here is Lofty, seated quietly on the porch steps as she so often is, intent on the thing in her hands. This time, though, it's a small, plain, off-white scarf, the frayed edge of which she is hemming in what we can most charitably describe as a workmanlike fashion.

Her hair's grown out a little, still too short to tie back, so that it falls around her face and periodically has to be brushed back.
