So we've landed in New York, the western edge of Ridgewood to be exact.
It took me about seven seconds to fall in love and then fall completely in comfort with our apartment, but I spent an inordinate amount of time in the shower on the first night trying to accept the fact that this is where I am actually living now. In New York City. I felt like Mike Doughty in "Is Chicago, Is Not Chicago", looking around my bathroom like this is my towel, but this is not my bathroom, this is not my life...
Albeit, that sounds a bit more like Talking Heads...
Things of note....
-Wicket is afraid of the new bathroom. She won't come in it at all.
-Somewhere in the move we lost Ian's spine piece... seen
here in the picture from the old room. We remember where it was before things were put in the van, but neither of us put it in the van and it wasn't around when we were cleaning up the house. Bizarre! I'm mourning it, being my favorite thing of Ian's ceramic making.
-The cats are going to go mad with the fever to get at the pigeons on our windowsills.
- We left town with season one of 30 Rock still in someone's possession of borrowing. We, however, can't remember who and we're jonsing for it. Do you have it, dear reader? I need me some Tina Fey....
- I made the most delicious banana/nutella crepes this morning...that's not really a thing of note, but man... I love crepes.
Pictures and better update later...
As much as I was want to gripe about how I'd miss my green things and my nature and my grassy knolls, I spotted this on the street...
