OASIS

The look that you cast
was a spell that ignited
the ice within my own eyes...

And our pain wasn't lessened
by truth that was threatened
by a whirlpool of unspoken lies...

So action was needed
and finally heeded
with no guilt or shame to divide us...

Our resistance was broken
and few words were spoken:

We wanted each other inside us.

"Is this what you wanted?"

"Not wanted...but needed."

Ice

Combined.

And for once our life's water
wasn't teardrops from slaughter...

But a mingling of your flesh
with mine.

We burned intensely -
but we rode it out
as seas did erupt in our storm...

Torn limb from limb
but we knew how to swim...

Our connection
is what kept us warm.

No longer frozen
or erupting with fear:
just two men together at last...

For we
were not drowned,
were lost but then found,

Devoured by spell that was cast.
