Bleh
While everybody in the US was busy "discussing" the elections as they were progressing, we had something quite serious happen right here in NL.
Filmmaker Theo van Gogh (yes, family of Vincent) was stabbed and shot to death.

Personally, I think that yeah, it's time to take the gloves off. There was a blurb in the news about taking away dutch citizenship from people with multiple citizenships that commit heavy crimes. Bravo! I do hope that law makes it in.
And yes, I have no problems with other cultures, and skin colour is even less of a concern to me. But when a certain culture is walking all over my culture, I think it's time to do something. We've turned the other cheek for years, to no avail.
It's time to have to police (who are somehow behind on their ticket quota and are going to fine even the smallest things to reach their quota before the end of the year... not making this up, it was in the news) stop trying to fill quotas and take some action when needed.
And it's time to stop cutting back education budgets. We need to educate kids, we need to make sure they _all_ get the knowledge we need to keep this world working. Not just the white kids in good schools. We need to stop making mega schools with so many kids and so little teachers that the teachers have no clue what's going on.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not booing Islam or anything. I just think anyone doing extremist activities should be dealt with. There's plenty of religious people who live their life and don't forcefully interfere with the lives of others. But alas, there's plenty of muslims, christians, jews and what not who think their way is the only way, and everyone who disagrees should be taken out of this world.
And we need to stop letting the media idolize a family like the Tokkies. Can you imagine a family that's so selfish and anti-social, that they set fire to a neighbour's home, and then become so (in)famous that they now have an agent, dealing with bookings... People pay money to see these people. People who are basically pigs. Yes, el Guapo, pigs!
Speaking of animals, it seems that monkey-man gets to keep his throne. Scary shit. And yes, most of us outside america think there's something wrong with that.
