Christmas Questionnaire..... HOORAY!!!!!
Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends.
There were instructions here about sending it to others and shit… and then people guessing or sending it back or whatever… I deleted them and do not care. I just enjoy answering questions.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Always wrapping paper…. bags are for lame people who can’t wrap… and I love to wrap presents.
2. Real tree or Artificial? I would eat both of my arms and both of my legs before I would ever allow an artificial tree into my house. That being said… in my room I have one of those little fiber optic trees in my room that I love… but that’s only because we have a real tree in the living room.
3. When do you put up the tree? Whenever. My family is busy and it used to be at the beginning of December but it keeps moving back to almost mid-December before we get it up… and then even longer sometimes before we get it decorated.
5. Do you like eggnog? God yes. And my Aunt Eileen makes this unbelievable homemade eggnog with lots of rum…. so fucking good.
6. Favorite gift received as a child: Do I still count as a child? Uhm… video games have always been my favorite…. though posters and Red Wings stuff makes a close second.
7. Hardest person to buy for? My brother. He just never wants anything. He has no hobbies.
8. Easiest person to buy for? My mother will take anything and is easily distracted by anything…. I wonder where I get it from. I made her a mix CD this Christmas with Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Christmas Canon… probably her favorite Christmas song… she flipped out in the car when I played it and said it was the best gift she could ever get.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? 700 of them. Hi Catholic mother. Our main one is hand made by my grandmother and pretty awesome looking if a bit abstract.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Christmas Cards….. what are those?
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Oh God… the Sweater Vest…. my mother bought me a sweater vest… it was so un-me and hideous to boot…. now I don’t allow her to buy me clothes…. though thinking back this might have been a birthday gift…. the two are fairly close for me.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? My mother has ruined them all for me. If I had to pick…. yeah… none.
13. When do you start shopping? I used to be better and start as soon as December hit… then last year I started the week of Christmas…. this year was better and was about 2 weeks before Christmas.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Nope….. I’ve never gotten something that bad…. and if it was say a bad sweater vest… I just returned it.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? I’m a total sucker for Christmas cookies…. the plain kind with the icing on it especially. I forget whet they’re called.
16. Lights on the tree? Colors. White lights need gold ribbons and fancy decorations and ruin the spirit of tons of crazy multi-colored ornaments… especially since we pick out a new ornament every year to represent a major happening of the year.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve - Sarajevo 1224
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? I travel back home every year.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? I could probably get hald… Donner and Blitzer and Comet and Rudolph and Prancer… maybe a Cupid?
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Man… we used to always do an angel and then recently vetoed it for a star. I really will take either as long as it looks pretty. The star we have now is tacky and I hate it.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Always Christmas morning. We usually got back from Midnight Mass at 1:30-2:00 AM and by then everyone’s tired and we had to bring the presents down then in the first place.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? People are rude and unbelievably so… when you work in customer service… you notice that shit even when you’re out shopping yourself. People suck.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Aforementioned every year we pick a new one to relate an important event of memorable story of the year. It’s cool to be able to trace back each year… now we label them so we don’t forget.
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Don’t really care… though I love Christmas Eve Dinner which is always delicious appetizers. Though this year we ate in the rectory with Fr. Bouchard and had amazing roast beef sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches along with a delicious vegetable and sausage soup and a tortellini salad. It was something I’d do again.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? I got my PS2.. and my new Kingdom Hearts… it was pretty good…… though I wouldn’t turn down Cole Sprouse if someone wants to be generous.
26. Who is most likely to respond to this? Flennen Huh. He’s a good gut like that Flennen.
27. Who is least likely to respond to this? Me…. because I already did it.
