Ok, so...
I jinxed myself when I said I was back. Little did I know that Monday morning, there would be an accident down the steet from us that would knock out power and cable. Power was restored early on Monday, but the cable just came back online while we were at lunch. So here's hoping that we keep cable more than 24 hours this time. :)
As far as life goes, I'm employed. I'm working at Wal-Mart overnight. It's full-time, but the pay sucks. But at least it's work and I'll have some money coming in. Right now, that's better than some down here, considering how much damage Katrina did.
It's still hard to wrap my mind around the destruction. Seeing the picture on TV was one thing; seeing it live, that's something I wasn't prepared for. Places where I couldn't see the beach before, I can see the beach now. Barbed wire to keep people from going south of the railroad tracks. The worst thing I can describe is that where I used to take my brother to work at, the road that I travelled had 12 houses on each side of the road. Now, there are only 3 on each side. That's how bad it is in that area.
